DIRECTIONS

To avail of detailed directions go to the AA Roadwatch website. Type in your journey starting point and Clonbur for your destination.

From Galway City to Clonbur: (Approx 45 Kilometres) From Galway City, take 2nd exit at Bodkin roundabout onto the Headford Road (N6). At the Kirwan roundabout, take 2nd exit onto Headford Road - N84 (Signposted Castlebar. Carry on into the town of Headford and pass through it, keeping on a straight line (R334). Pass through Glencorrib, (R346) and when you reach Cross, bear to the left onto the Cong road (R345). Keep to the left after Cong village and follow the road into Clonbur village (R438). Bear right when you reach Clonbur and continue for 2.5 miles until you see a signpost for Petersburg O.E.C. on the right hand side.

From Shannon to Clonbur: (Approx 134 Kilometres) Take the R471 from Shannon and head towards the Shannon Town Roundabout, take the third exit onto the N19 towards Galway (N18) and Limerick. Continue on for about two miles, until you come to another roundabout. From here take the 1st exit and merge onto the N18. Continue into Crusheen, and onto the Ennis Road -N18 Entering Gort. Continue on until you reach Oranbeg. Here you will take the N6 - signposted Galway. Once in Galway city, take 2nd exit at Bodkin roundabout onto the Headford Road (N6). At the Kirwan roundabout, take 2nd exit onto Headford Road - N84 (Signposted Castlebar. Carry on into the town of Headford and pass through it, keeping on a straight line (R334). TICKET DETAILS

  • The Festival Grounds will be open from 12.00pm on Friday, August 14th, to allow for those who want to pitch their tent early.
  • General Admission is €115.00. This entitles the entrant three days at the festival along with free parking and camping.
  • Family Camping is €320.00. This entitles a family of two adults and three children entrance to the festival for three days, along with free camping in the quiet, family camping area plus free parking.
  • Entrance to the festival on the Friday only is €35.00. Gates are open from 15.00pm onwards.
  • Entrance to the festival on the Saturday only is €48.50. Gates are open from 12.00pm onwards.
  • Entrance to the festival on the Sunday only is €48.50. Gates are open from 12.00pm onwards.
  • Children under 8 admission is free

ACTIVITIES

This year at Moondance Festival, we want to make sure that all the family are catered for. That is why we have arranged for a number of engaging and entertaining workshops to keep you and the children entertained throughout the entire weekend.

We have:

  • Bombanova Drumming Workshops with Geoff Ward
  • Face Painting
  • Mask Making Workshops for the Mask Ball
  • Adult's and Children's Theatre with the Gombeen Theatre Company and the Fibín Theatre Company
  • Storytelling to keep you and the kids enthralled

You will then be encouraged to wear the masks that you have made and play drums in the Moondance Parade that will take place in the festival grounds on the Sunday evening to start of the Mask Ball and end a fantastic weekend.

PETERSBURG ACTIVITIES

Registration for Outdoor Activities for the weekend will take place on the Friday in the festival grounds by Petersburg Outdoor Education Centre Staff. Please be aware that places are limited. If you cannot make the Friday Registration, registration can be achieved by emailing info@petersburg.ie.

  • Activities offered include Kayaking, Canoeing and Windsurfing, which last for an hour and cost €20 per adult and €15 per Child.
  • Off-Site activities offered include Gorge Walking and Hill Walking. These will last approximately two and a half hours, and cost €40.00 per adult.
  • Activities specifically geared towards the younger festival goer have also been arranged. This includes a boat trip to Red Island, followed by the obstacle course on the island. This costs €15.00 per child.
  • Additional activities can be arranged subject to demand.
  • All equipment will be provided on site, including wet suits. All you have to bring is swimming gear.

PARKING

This service will be in operation on Friday the 14 th of August, from 12:00pm onwards.

Park & Ride: For those who will be parked outside the main festival grounds, there will be a park and ride service operating from the Clonbur GAA Football Pitch, to transport people to and from the Moondance Festival. Bus services will run every fifteen minutes to the festival grounds, which is located just under a mile away. Toilet Facilities will be provided at the Park & Ride Location. Please note you cannot park your car beside your tent for Health & Safety Reasons

Shop and Toilet Facilities will be provided at the Park & Ride Location.

CAMPING

Please note that camping is only for weekend pass-holders.

Family Camping: €320 for Two Adults and Three Children plus general admission to the festival and free parking. This fully serviced campsite will be situated in a quiet area away from the general camping area.

General Camping: €115 for one person plus general admission to the festival and free parking. Camping will be located down by lake area in the designated area, and will be fully lighted.

CAMPERVANS

If you want to bring a Campervan, you will require a campervan ticket. Everyone travelling in the campervan must also have a their own ticket. Tents cannot be pitched in the Campervan Park for Health & Safety reasons. Campervan tickets are only available by emailing info@moondancefestival.com. This is a on a first come basis. Commercial vans of any type will not be allowed so please do not purchase a campervan ticket for anything other than a proper campervan (its own in-built kitchen facilities and toilet) . You can bring a small diesel generator. Petrol generators are not permitted.You can also park a caravan into campervan park (size restriction of 7x7metres) . Once it is positioned you will need to park car in Car Park. A campervan ticket will need to be purchased for caravan.

FOOD AND DRINK

There will be a variety of food stalls at Moondance Festival, providing high quality dishes with an eclectic, earthy and nourishing feel.

BBQ AREA To be confirmed

Campbell's Tavern is going to provide their assistance in making sure none of the revellers go thirsty. Based in Cloughanover, just outside Headford, Willie Campbell and Co. have established their bar to be one of the best music venues in the county. We are delighted and honoured to have Campbell's Tavern support us at this year's Moondance Festival.

RECYCLING

We at Moondance aim to keep this wonderful festival green. With your help, we can reduce the environmental impact of the festival, while you still have a great weekend of fun and frolics. There will be designated recycling areas throughout the festival grounds, and we encourage you whole-heartedly to use them.

When tidying up your camping area, please separate your campsite waste into recyclables, compostables and landfill and take back to the Litter Points in the campgrounds. In other words.... LEAVE NO TRACE!

PS. DON'T FORGET YOUR TENT!

LOST PROPERTY

Located on site will be a 24 hour Information Point. The Information Tent handles a large variety of queries from festival goers. Lost Children, Items or any problems that you may have can be relocated here, where we will do our best to ensure that your needs are taken care of.

SECURITY

A search will be conducted as a condition of entry to premises. Incidents of crime and disorder will be reported to the police. Entry to the premises will be refused to any person who appears to be drunk, acting in a threatening manner or is violent. Entry will be refused to any person who has been convicted of an offence of drunkenness, violent or threatening behaviour or the use or distribution of illegal substances. 

Security staff will be on patrol throughout the site 24 hours. Please contact them if you need any assistance.

PETS

Unfortunately, no pets are allowed at Moondance Festival.

NO FIRES ARE ALLOWED IN THE ARENA, IN THE CAR PARKS, IN FAMILY/GENERAL CAMPING OR IN THE CAMPERVAN FIELDS.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

In the event of the cancellation of an event by the organizer/promoter (ie a cancellation due to circumstances beyond promoter's control), GoGoGo will only refund the face value of the ticket. Promoter will use best endeavors to contact purchasers and advise them to return the tickets. Please note, however, it is the customer's responsibility to check whether the event is going ahead at the scheduled date, time and venue, and promoter cannot guarantee that they will inform the customer of any changes to the event date, time or venue.

GoGoGo ( promoter) reserves the right to refuse entry of the ticket holder to the festival site. Anyone found to be causing damage to the site, the site infrastructure, causing harm to any other person on site or in breach of these conditions will be subject to prosecution. GoGoGo reserves the right to search all persons and personal property and refuse admission to, or eject from, the site any person who refuses to be searched by a security official.

Neither the venue nor the promoter can accept responsibility for lost or stolen property.

Only persons who have the consent of the promoters will be able to trade at the festival.
